STANDING SEAM PANELS

Bratex Dachy offers the Standing Seam panel system as a set of components for roof and façade construction.

We offer the standing seam solution in two versions: as flat sheet metal in rolls, or as prefabricated panels for clipping.

The roofing is made of specially selected metal alloys, using the right accessories, the necessary tools, machines, and professional technical support that we provide.

Production of the Standing Seam system panels is based on two primary types of sheet metal: PLX steel sheet manufactured by SSAB Sweden, and aluminium sheets manufactured by HYDRO 3005 Norway.

Benefits of standing seam panels

01
Impenetrability

The most impenetrable type of roofing that utilises sheet metal; requires precision and experience.

02
Freedom of forming and aesthetics of finish

Standing seam sheets enable various types of forming; they are highly malleable and easy to work, they can be used to create almost any details and will not break; this way, it is possible to manufacture any finishing elements and roof shapes, including adornments, e.g. for sacral buildings.

03
Unique roofing possibilities

Possible to apply on almost any type of roof, the standing seam method can be used even at very small roof pitches, as well as for more complex roof structures.

04
Modern coated sheet metal

The PLX steel sheets used for standing seam roofing is an extremely durable material with a very low bend radius value, high 350 g/m2 mass of zinc protection, and is easy to work and install even at a temperature of -10oC; the surface, protected with the GreenCoat varnish, has excellent resistance to scratches and stretching during installation without risk of breaking; HYDRO 3005 aluminium sheets are covered with an effective transparent varnish and possess solid mechanical working properties.

05
Cost-effectiveness and maintenance

Maintenance of roofs covered with these metal sheets is very easy and does not require specialist equipment; you can occasionally wash the roof with water; after several decades of use, the roof can be repainted by applying paint to the old varnish.

06
Environmental benefits

The SSAB and HYDRO sheet solutions are the most environmentally friendly materials as they can be recycled endlessly, while the only byproducts of their manufacturing process are water and carbon dioxide.

Technical Information

1. Prefabricated panels for roof and façade applications

The primary material of the Standing Seam system.

Delivered directly from Bratex Dachy.

Roofing as panels with interlocks on both sides for clipping.

The interlocks of prefabricated panels are versatile, enabling application both in the roofing version using double seams, and in the façade version with single seams.

If required, panels can be protected with special film with a durability guarantee of 3 months from the date of application.

2. Sheet rolls, foundry-varnished

Delivered as narrow sheet rolls for processing at the construction site.

Profile preparation on site enables better customisation of panels to the specific application, e.g. production of 30 m long panels.

If required, the rolls can be protected with special film with a durability guarantee of 3 months from the date of application.

3. Schlebach Mini-Prof-Plus profiler

High-quality machine made in Germany. Enables loading narrow sheet rolls, within the 230-850 mm width range, and profiling standing seam interlocks on both sides, with a cross-section identical to prefabricated panels. Winding length set electromechanically, manual rotary cutters. Machine weight 315 kg, power supply 230 V, 1.1 kW, has a sheet roll unwinder with 300 kg capacity.

Bratex Dachy has two Schlebach Mini-Prof-Plus machines that can be leased to customers purchasing the system. Terms are determined individually.

4. Schlebach RBM-25 arch bending machine

A specialist device for making arches from standing seam panels. Panel width range 300-800 mm, minimum radius for aluminium sheet 400 mm, for steel sheets 1500 mm.

Machine weight 230 kg, power supply 230 V, 1.1 kW. The arch bending machine is available for equipping for customers purchasing the system. Terms are determined individually.

5. Schlebach Spider seaming machine

A new generation seaming machine of light and compact design, used for manufacturing angled or double standing seams of 25/32 or 38 mm height. The strong, two-gear engine has adjustable operating speed, which enables achieving the maximum working speed of 14 m/min. The device can also bend arch profiles with a minimum radius of 600 mm.

The machine is equipped with electronic protection against the material leaving the track, and comes with a remote control.

6. Professional installation clips

Standing seam panels are mounted to the surface using fixed or sliding installation clips. We offer the highest quality professional clips by the Swedish company BJARNES. The clips are made of galvanised carbon steel or stainless steel. Galvanised installation clips are used only for steel panels, while stainless clips can be used both for steel and aluminium panels.

Clip selection depends on the type and cross-section of the surface.

7. Roofing membranes

Depending on the method of system installation, designed by the architect, different roofing membrane types may be required:

  • steam insulation film forming moisture-protection insulation;
  • steam-permeable membrane, forming part of the ventilation system, which allows steam to pass and condensate on the bottom side of the panels;
  • separation mats, several millimetres high, separating standing seam panels from the surface and providing the appropriate ventilation to the roof space.

8. Technical consulting

As part of the Standing Seam panel system package, we offer excellent technical support in the following fields:

  • various construction solutions combined with standing seam panels - structure preparation methods, surface types, roof ventilation, use of steam insulation films, steam-permeable membranes and separation mats;
  • on-site installation training - at the customer's or contractor's request, our technical support specialist may conduct a series of training sessions necessary to correctly install the system on the roof;
  • maintenance of the panel system to keep it in the best possible condition for years after the warranty expires.
